Some More Information About PCI Compliance
PCI Compliance stands for Payment Card Industry Compliance. In order to be able to process payments, a merchant needs to meet PCI requirements. These requirements are targeted at checking the level of security of the cardholder’s data storage.
The requirements differ depending on the amount of processed transactions per year. Four levels of PCI Compliance are pointed out: level 4, 3, 2, 1 merchants (A level 4 merchant processes the smallest amount of transaction per year and a level 1 merchant – the highest). Merchants of different levels have to undertake different types of PCI auditing procedure. What should level 4 merchants do?
Level 4 merchants have to fill out a self-assessment questionnaire
(SAQ). Level 4 merchants often use the services of other companies to accept credit cards. Usually, they rely on payment pages and tokenization services of the PSPs. Consequently, the PSP itself would help level 4 merchants to fill out SAQ.
